IDR is seeking a Data Engineer to join one of our top clients for a opportunity in Austin, TX, NYC or Cupertino, CA. This role supports a prominent technology organization involved in developing modern data architectures for innovative payment and commerce solutions. The position offers the chance to work on building scalable data pipelines and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Position Overview for the Data Engineer:
- Design and scale modern data architectures to support Wallet, Payments, and Commerce products
- Build high-performance batch and near-real-time data pipelines
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows optimized for performance and cost efficiency
- Implement dimensional data models and standardize business metrics
- Ensure data governance, privacy, and system reliability
Requirements for the Data Engineer:
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering for analytics or ML systems
- Strong SQL proficiency
- Experience in Python, Scala, or Java
- Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, and Airflow (or similar tools)
- Strong understanding of data modeling and lakehouse architectures (e.g., Iceberg)
