About the Role: Full-time; 6-month contract with potential to extend
In this critical role on AlixPartners’ Application Development and Platform Support team, you will be responsible for developing bespoke applications and websites globally. This position will also support, , enhance, maintain, and upgrade custom developed applications. The Corporate Applications Full Stack Developer is a full-time, contract role located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the Application Development & Platform Support Manager. Paid relocation and benefits are not available for this contract position.
What you’ll do
- Introduce leading edge processes and tools into the development capabilities of the firm by collaborating with the Business Analysis, Project Management and Business Relationship Management teams (including application support) to define, develop, and deliver new capabilities
- Key contributor to efforts that incorporate (new? existing? new and existing?) Application Development tools, techniques and processes into our overall architecture development and design efforts
- Automate and implement key development processes and promote the adoption of application management and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate on development plans for management and monitoring of application development, support and maintenance initiatives
- Support the Change Management processes involved in development and upgrades of our enterprise applications and integrations.
- Communicate projects and support related information to the IT leadership and business staff in a polished, professional manner

What you’ll bring
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, Business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree(s)
- Minimum of three (3) years in Application analysis, development or a related field, and significant exposure to software development best practices and processes
- Experience in Microsoft Tech Stack (.net), Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
- Hands-on experience in UI/UX development is highly desirable including experience in React JS
- Hands-on experience in prompting and evaluating LLMs (Claude, Co-Pilot, Gemini) including few-shot prompting and structured outputs
- Working knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), grounding strategies, and common LLM failure modes (hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage) and Agentic AI
- Ability to translate business requirements into prompt strategies and product requirements with measurable outcomes (quality, safety, speed, and cost)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills; proven ability to work effectively with various personnel styles; ability to effectively convey and obtain buy-in for holistic strategies at all levels and functions in the organization
- Must be process and detail oriented, but able to grasp the big picture. The ideal candidate would be a creative and innovative person with a demonstrated track record of collaboration
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and written in English and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
- Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
