IDR is seeking a Indirect Tax Specialist to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in sales and use tax compliance, supporting business license requirements, and ensuring regulatory deadlines are met. The company operates within an industry that values precision and efficiency in tax compliance processes.
Position Overview for the Indirect Tax Specialist:
- Support compliance with state and local sales/use tax and business license regulations.
- Prepare and review sales/use tax returns, license applications, renewals, and jurisdictional filings.
- Track deadlines and ensure all filings and payments are submitted accurately and on time.
- Assist with account reconciliations, payment requests, and audit support.
- Conduct tax research related to licensing requirements, tax rates, and jurisdictional rules.
Requirements for the Indirect Tax Specialist:
- 2+ years of experience in sales and use tax compliance preferred
- Experience preparing and filing state and local tax returns
- Exposure to business licenses, renewals, and registrations preferred
- Knowledge of indirect tax compliance and jurisdictional requirements
- Ability to track multiple deadlines and ensure timely filings and payments
