Project Description
This position supports Revolutional’s federal customer as part of an application transformation and modernization initiative.
This program is driving a large-scale transformation of systems into a data-centric, cloud-native ecosystem capable of supporting high-volume, near real-time data processing and advanced analytics. The work includes modernization of legacy applications, development of new cloud-native solutions, and implementation of DevSecOps and scaled Agile practices across the organization.
The core challenge: orchestrating complex, multi-contractor delivery while transforming both technology and operating models without disrupting mission-critical operations.
Position Description
As a Lead Test Engineer at Revolutional, you will define and drive enterprise testing strategy, automation, and quality engineering execution across a large-scale federal modernization program.
You will provide technical leadership across multiple testing disciplines and high-impact assignments, ensuring quality engineering practices are integrated across applications, APIs, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and distributed systems. You will lead the development of scalable testing frameworks, formal testing artifacts, and coordinated testing efforts across teams, systems, and environments.
This role requires someone who can move beyond traditional QA driving enterprise-wide testing governance, automation, integration, and operational quality assurance across Agile and Waterfall delivery models.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across testing and quality engineering efforts within a large-scale modernization program
- Lead high-impact testing initiatives across applications, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, and enterprise data systems
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automated testing frameworks, scripts, and reusable testing components
- Develop and maintain formal testing artifacts including test plans, test cases, test scripts, test scenarios, Test Analysis Reports (TARs), Test and Evaluation Management Plans (TEMP), and release readiness reports
- Establish and manage test data strategies, test data management processes, and validation frameworks
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, rapid feedback, and automated quality enforcement
- Coordinate testing activities across systems, vendors, teams, and environments to ensure alignment, interoperability, and end-to-end integration quality
- Lead API, integration, regression, system, performance, load, and end-to-end testing activities across distributed systems
- Manage defect lifecycle activities including defect identification, categorization, prioritization, tracking, escalation, and remediation oversight
- Analyze test results, quality trends, and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement in system quality and release performance
- Ensure systems meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, resiliency, security, and operational reliability
- Collaborate with developers, architects, DevSecOps engineers, and operational teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC
- Support testing governance across Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall delivery models
- Mentor test engineers and promote enterprise testing standards, automation practices, and quality engineering best practices

What You Bring (Requirements)
Baseline Requirements
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust
- 10–14 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or enterprise testing leadership roles
- Proven experience leading testing efforts across complex, large-scale enterprise systems and modernization initiatives
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks, enterprise test coordination, and quality governance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Technical Capabilities
- Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise automated testing strategies and frameworks
- Experience developing and managing formal testing artifacts including test plans, test cases, scripts, scenarios, TEMP documentation, TARs, and quality reports
- Experience with test data management, test data generation, and validation strategies across large-scale systems
- Experience coordinating testing activities across multiple systems, vendors, teams, and integrated environments
- Experience with defect lifecycle management including tracking, categorization, remediation coordination, and reporting
- Experience with API testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, and end-to-end testing methodologies
- Experience integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps delivery environments
- Strong experience with GitLab, Jira, Xray, Selenium, Jenkins, Cucumber, Playwright, Qmetry, and related testing platforms
- Experience testing cloud-native, distributed, and high-volume enterprise systems
- Experience operating within Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Strong understanding of quality metrics, release readiness, scalability, resiliency, and operational testing practices
