IDR is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting SQL Server databases with a focus on management, maintenance, and performance optimization. The company operates in the technology industry, specializing in cloud-based solutions and database management.
Position Overview for the SQL Database Administrator:
- Act as a SQL Database Administrator, overseeing the management and maintenance of SQL Server databases
- Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies
- Collaborate with development teams to support database-related initiatives
- Perform performance tuning and optimization to ensure high system efficiency
- Support administrative tasks in Azure, including building clusters and managing security
Requirements for the SQL Database Administrator:
- 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator in a production environment
- Experience with Windows/Azure operating systems and performing administrative work
- Experience with AlwaysOn and building clusters
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with security, specifically how it works on an Active Directory (AD) level
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
